Water Drainage & Flood Prevention

Give water a safe path away from your home — French drains, downspout drainage, and grading that stop flooding, erosion, and standing water before they start.

Overview

Water drainage is a system that moves water away from your home. We collect rain, snowmelt, groundwater, and runoff, then redirect it to a safe spot — away from the foundation, basement, and landscaping.

It’s a plan for the whole property, not one drain. We find where the water comes from, where it needs to go, and build what gets it there: French drains, downspout drainage, surface drains, grading.

It prevents damage instead of repairing it. The system stops flooding, erosion, and moisture problems before they start — and it’s built with cleanouts so it keeps working for years.

What we handle

French Drain Installation

Subsurface drains that collect excess groundwater and carry it away from foundations, yards, and hillsides.

Gutter & Downspout Drainage

Roof runoff routed away from the house with gutters, downspout extensions, buried pipe, and a safe discharge point.

Foundation & Basement Drainage

Keeps water from collecting against the foundation, so the basement stays dry.

Surface Water Management

Drainage paths for standing water, low spots, and runoff with nowhere to go.

Hillside Drainage Solutions

Runoff and erosion control for slopes that send water toward structures, landscaping, or neighbors.

Flood Prevention & Drainage Correction

We correct what causes recurring flooding instead of cleaning up after it again.

Drainage System Maintenance & Access

Proper pipe, aggregate, filter fabric, and cleanouts, so the system can be inspected and flushed later.

Signs you need drainage

  • Standing water in the yard. Low spots hold water long after the storm passes.
  • A damp, musty, or leaking basement. Water sitting against the house eventually finds a way in.
  • Downspouts dumping at the wall. Roof runoff soaks the ground right where the foundation is.
  • Erosion on a slope. Runoff carries soil off hillsides and out of beds.
  • Soggy lawn and dying plants. Saturated ground is hard on roots.
  • Flooding every spring. It comes back with the snowmelt until the cause is fixed.

Frequently asked questions

What is a French drain?

A perforated pipe set in aggregate below grade, wrapped in filter fabric. It collects groundwater and carries it somewhere safe.

Where does the water actually go?

To a discharge point away from the house — a lower part of the yard, a swale, or another appropriate outlet. We pick it during the site walk.

Can you fix standing water in my yard?

Usually, yes. We find the low spots and where the water is coming from, then build a path that moves it out.

Do you handle drainage on a hillside?

Yes. Slopes send runoff straight toward structures and landscaping, so they get their own drainage and erosion control.

Will the system need maintenance?

Some. We build in cleanouts and accessible components so drains can be inspected and flushed rather than dug up.
